In celebration of National Youth Day, on Sunday evening Chief of Security- Mr. Watts and Administrative Assistant- Ms. Williams hosted a Spelling Bee contest for the youth at Ocala Youth Academy. This was an opportunity for each of the youth to display their spelling vocabulary. Our purpose in doing this activity is to help our youth improve their spelling, increase their vocabulary, learn concepts and develop correct English. A brief history of Spelling Bees: Spelling bees became widespread across the United States during the 1800s, as a way to motivate students to learn standardized spelling. Today our youth learned to celebrate one another. The winner, Youth T.W. was awarded a special dinner! Congratulations T.W!
