Our Restorative Arts program is a collaboration between Metro Arts and the Metro Nashville Davidson County Juvenile Court. Restorative Arts facilitates meaningful art experiences with the goal of creating safer communities and providing support and opportunities to those directly impacted by the juvenile justice system.
During August, Global Education hosted “Let’s Make a Beat,” a virtual music studio as an alternative due to visitation restrictions from COVID-19. The youth were able to have the same level of interaction with instructors via Zoom. Staff provided the youth with iPads or laptops while global education staff provided instruction via Zoom. They also offer dance, music production mentoring, and theater focused expression.
