Broward Youth Treatment Center recently hosted a spirit week to enhance staff morale around the building. We were pleasantly surprised at how many staff participated! Each day of the week had a different theme.

The Champions’ Team had the youth and staff take a T.R.A.C.E. Trauma Responsive and Caring Environment, survey in order to ensure that everyone’s mental health was in proper condition and to ensure that everyone knew the proper trauma procedures. The results stated that it would be helpful to allot a room for the clinical department to guide the youth’s behavior through therapeutic sensory strategies.

With the youths’ help, we created a “therapy room” which Ms. Jimenez has already started to utilize different exercises!

The Broward Youth Treatment Center (BYTC) serves 40 males between the ages of 13 and 18, in a non-secure residential commitment program that provides therapeutic services to address all behavioral issues, as well as mental health and substance abuse issues.
